Hi people. This is my blog for my class at Walden University. I am an Educational Technology PhD candidate there. I have always loved school and the Internet is making it possible for me to achieve my advanced degree even though I live in a small town in rural Tennessee. I have made many friends at Walden and I hope to make more. D.

Hi Dianne,

I lived in Tennessee a while back. I lived in Columbia (which you probably do not know), near Spring Hill (which everyone knows!).

Hi David:

I started at Walden in November, 2005 and I hope to finish around 2009. I am working on KAM I. I have just finished the breadth and beginning the depth now. I have taken 6 classes and been to 2 residencies. I hope to go to one residency this summer and one in summer 2008.

Hi Dianne!

I think we will all have fun posting at each others blog. At the same time it is a good practice just in case we decide to use this tool with our students. Up to now, it seems very simple to me, and I think it will be a great tool to use. Which of the emerging technologies do you think would work best in your setting?

Hi Carlos:

I like blogging. I know that the more I can get to write, I improve my writing skills. I hope that I can get my students to as well. I want to utilize smartboards better. What about you?

Carlos and Dianne,

I like those smart technologies as well especially when I have to do powerpoint presentations. It is so much easier that dealing with the dead battery clicker (smile). Any way, I also like the new computer cell phones, since I am on the road a lot. How convenient! Then of course there is the podcasting of lectures, I just love all the new technology.

I agree with all of you. All of the new technologies are interesting, I am trying to not become so overwhelmed by them all. The key is to make sure that you know what to use, when and how.
